The difference is considerable in weight and quality with 565 being the better of the two. The Capresso Conical Burr grinder is a fine machine. Don't make the mistake of getting the 560 instead of the 565. The main difference being one is of plastic versus metal housing. The 565 is meeting all of my hopes of a grinder.
I haven't used for espresso yet, but I have no doubt that the grinds would be fine enough for it. A little pricey, but noticeably better than Krupps, Cuisinart, and the other "mainstream" brands. Grinds are absolutely consistent, and perfect for drip or press. Only con is that it is a PAIN to clean - but I suppose so would any burr grinder. I use compressed air to blow the grinds out of it, but I'm sure there are probably better / easier ways.Again, it is a little more expensive than the others, but well worth the investment.
I made a batch of ice coffee and right away noticed the improvement in the flavor. I read the reviews before purchasing this grinder and compared it to another grinder that I was considering. Based on the reviews, I went with this one. I use a french press to make my coffee, the coarse grind is perfect and I had less issues in pushing down the plunger filter compared to when I was using a blade grinder. If you want better tasting coffee, go with this grinder.
They should replace it with a simple on/off switch. It's easy to maintain and easy to use. This grinder is excellent. Be careful not to try to turn the timer switch off before it's finished, it will break. I will never go back to the blade type grinder. Only complaint is the timer switch. I clean the hopper after every pound of coffee I grind, which seems adequate. The instructions say to clean it after every use which is just not feasible.
I doubt it will because of the low velocity.I used it in the recommended setting for drip and am very happy with the result. Yes, the starbucks oily bean is very full of static. We a a differnt Capresso model but returned it after it jammed up. Changed beans one day and no static.I clean every two weeks. But will run the brush up the shoot to keep it unclogged. This one costs double but it seems a much superior design.very happy. The result is great.
